50th Anniversary Exhibit of the Summer of Love

1967. Jimi Hendrix, Cream, Pink Floyd, the doors. Where were you that year? Enjoy memorabilia of this iconic time from private collections: Bill Graham posters, BGP post cards, Stanley Mouse paintings, Alton Kelley poster.

The psychedelic scene was barely a year old, but Bay Area residents were already collecting the works of five young artists making names for themselves as masters of the psychedelic poster — Wes Wilson, Alton Kelley and Stanley Mouse, victor Moscoso and Rick Griffin. The “Big Five” longed to be taken seriously as artists.
