Sally Cataldo and Francine Hurd exhibition at Highlight Gallery

Highlight Gallery is please to present the works of Sally Cataldo using watercolor, mixed media and collage. In her evolution from realistic she continues to explore abstract as she dives deeper, evolving into full expression of seeing her world. Sally is flattening her shapes for design, taking from her love of nature and her subconscious ideas, and finding that collage helps her sift through chaos to order shapes, patterns and designs that express her experiences. In her collages she uses objects found on her hikes and walks, and recycled past works.  Sally says, “My hope is for exploring and expressing my world.”

In addition, Sally’s mother, Francine Hurd, is an accomplished pastel artist whose sense of serenity and beauty are expressed fully in her peaceful landscapes of Sonoma and Mendocino.
