Carolyn King: "Transitions" - Wood, Skeletonized Leaves, Seeds & Mixed Media

In August Carolyn King is having an exhibition of new work entitled “Transitions.”

The show explores concepts of change and impermanence and will include sculptures made from wood, leaf skeletons and other material found in nature, as well as natural forms fabricated out of mixed media.

Pieces include a large hollow maple wood round carved with organic shapes on both sides, three wall hangings, two of made from leaf skeletons and seeds, the other of dangling grape vines with soaring bird shapes whose feathers are fashioned from bamboo leaves, a tall spiral of pine needle
