Artists' Co-op: "Heart Work" by Karen Bowers

Karen Bower’s work is expansive in style and materials. She paints with watercolor, gouache and acrylic and mixes media adding collage, charcoal, graphite, ink, watercolor pencil and crayon. The work is developed on paper, canvas, or wood panel.

“I am pleased to have this month for Heart Work, a valentine to the joyful process of painting. For me, painting is a practice, a perspective on life. I began my focus for this show heading toward the Winter Solstice, thinking about lighter days ahead.  Hope in the Dark by Rebecca Solnit informed a big part of my perspective.
