Colleen Schenck primarily creates jewelry and small metal sculptures. The use of precious with non-precious metals reflects her love of metals, their colors and the seductive nature of their surfaces. Certain types of images have become a part of her personal visual language. Architectural forms frame animal shapes, archetypal motifs, and stylized leaves. The symbolic quality of hearts, hands and crosses gives her work a ritualistic appeal as well as a sense of ancestral memory. Such archetypal forms have also been the basis of a recent rich series of collages.

Marvin Schenck is a colorist whose work spans printmaking, painting and collage. His work is based in a love of landscape that spans Post Impressionism to visionary dream imagery. The visionary work usually suggests a story that the viewer has to expand on. Recently, he has been working on a collage series that portray family heritage stories.

Both artists will be available to talk about their work as they demonstrate their techniques.
