Alyssum Wier | Executive Director

ACMC Executive Director, Alyssum Wier, joined the Arts Council in 2008.

She has managed the studios of contemporary artists in New York City; was the assistant director at a contemporary art gallery in New York City; consulted for national foundations; managed membership and the annual conference for Grantmakers in the Arts (Seattle); and completed internship programs at the Alliance for the Arts (NY) and the Smithsonian American Art Museum (DC).

Alyssum holds an M.A. in Arts Administration from Columbia University and has taught at Mendocino College. She is on the Mendocino County Tourism Commission’s Marketing Committee and formerly served as vice-chair of the Mendocino County Promotional Foundation and on the Steering Committee of Leadership Mendocino (and was in class XIX).

Alyssum is also an artist when she is not too busy as an arts administrator. She is a jeweler, fiber artist, writer and also loves to experiment with leather, sewing, and painting. Learning a new form of art is one of the great pleasures of life! Alyssum graduated from Kenyon College in 1996 with a B.A., double major in English Literature (poetry emphasis) and Psychology; and from Teachers College, Columbia University in 2004 with an M.A. in Arts Administration.
