A Music & Dance Tribute to Laura Nyro

A Music & Dance Tribute to Laura Nyro

Presented by Willits Center for the Arts at Willits Center for the Arts

A Music & Dance Tribute to Laura Nyro, who would be 70 years old (if she survived), along with original music by Bill Taylor. This evening will feature musicians Bill Taylor on piano, George Husaruk on flute and Yanahay Hooper on bass. The dancers include audience members who feel moved to interpret the music in dance. For those who just love to sing, the words to Ms. Nyro’s songs will be available for you to Sing-A-Long!

In these often turbulent times it is good to remember the words of Cat Stevens, that “we are only dancing on this earth for a short while”.  Singing and dancing and celebrating an artist of such merit as Laura Nyro is sure to produce some smiles and joy. Bill Taylor, a local composer, has several new compositions inspired by jazz notables Stan Getz and Billy Strayhorn. He will also play music from his first cd “Of this Earth”.

P.S. if you would like to volunteer for the event, contact me at the below number, thanks!
