The Willits Center for the Arts presents Crystal Kamoroff and Evan Hobart; two sculptors whose works address world issues and personal explorations.

Evan received his Bachelor of Arts from Humboldt State University in 2004 under the tutelage of Keith Schneider, Jim Crawford and Louis Marak.  Hobart has taught ceramics at San Jose State University and Medicine Hat Community College, as well as private classes at Sweet Spirit Ceramic Studio in San Rafael, California.

Evan is currently the Ceramics Program Manager at the Mendocino Art Center. Evan is also the ceramics professor at Mendocino College in Fort Bragg, CA. Hobart’s work is exhibited in the USA and Canada, and is represented in many private collections throughout California.

Evan presents his predators, sculpted dinosaur skulls with cities buzzing along on top. His inspiration comes from his surrounding environment and a desire to create narrative with his fantastical sculptures.

Crystal Kamoroff grew up in Northern California. She is the daughter of local musician, Bear, and Sharon Kamoroff.

Crystal is a San Francisco based artist who has exhibited work in galleries and various art venues both nationally and throughout the Bay Area. She received her BFA from San Jose State University and MFA from Bowling Green State University.

Crystal is an active studio artist with a background in ceramics and sculpture, and has a passion for installation and site-specific art. She is constantly researching information and techniques that inform and her work as well as seeking out artist communities that facilitate creative dialogues and collaborations.

Both of these artists will take the Willits Center for the Arts to a new level of artistic expression. Opening night reception, June 30th 6-9 pm
