"Celebrating the Life of Victoria Bard"

Presented by Northcoast Artists Gallery at Northcoast Artists Gallery

The Fort Bragg area lost a well-loved jeweler late November of last year when Victoria passed. This show will be a retrospective of her work from the last forty years as well as a display of her newer work, which will be for sale. The show will also include artwork that has been inspired by Victoria from past and current members of the gallery. Members of the the gallery would also like to invite community members to come to the gallery any time during the month of May and write down a personal story to share with other visitors about Victoria.  The show will run from May 3 through May 29.

Jewelry as an art form was a great source of creative inspiration to Victoria. After she graduated from Scripps College in 1967, she  worked as a jeweler in New Zealand, Hawaii, and California. Victoria and her husband, Paul, were avid surfers; rarely did a day go by that they were not in the ocean for at least part of that day. Paul was known for making excellent surfboards. For Victoria, the energy and beauty of nature provided her with personal joy, and gave her artistic direction for her work. Please join the gallery members for a First Friday celebration on May 5, as we remember Victoria and her beautiful work.

First Friday Artist’s Reception:   May 5, 5-8 p.m.
