Made in Mendocino

Twenty quilters will display a collection of Traditional and Art Quilts at the Willits Center for the Arts. The show will display a variety of work from central Mendocino County including participants from Willits, Ukiah, and Laytonville. Asked about the show, Holly Madrigal tells us, “The show is about the many variations in quilting from hand-stitched quilting to machine made quilts and the comradery of quilters. It’s about another type of great American art ”.

The show is an opportunity to see quality quilts and crafted work in an intimate gallery setting. These quilts are recognized as fine art for their complex patterns, excellent craftsmanship, and creativity.

Some of the Quilters in the show are, Ann Horton, Barbara Carlon, Carolyn Salcedo, Christy Bergenson, Kathy Davidson, Laura Fogg, Linda McDonald, Marilyn Simpson, Nan Trichler, Rachel Cash, Susan Ingle, Ursula Partch, Debbie Bowls, Karen Mattson and others.

A community quilt will be auctioned off to benefit the Willits Library. The quilt was handmade by 14 different quilters.

An opening reception will be held at June 3rd 6 p.m. Members Hour, 7 p.m. all are welcome. The show will run through June 25th.
