Growing up close to nature, Kale has transformed his respect for the ways of natural design into intriguing artifacts, transforming molten glass into both geometric and organic forms. He apprenticed himself at a young age to some of the finest glass studios of Seattle including Martin Blank Studios, Dale Chihuly, Jim Mongrain, and others.

He returned to Willits in 2012, bringing back a vast knowledge and honed skills with glass and blacksmithing. His work is collected internationally and can be seen at the new Howard Memorial Hospital, Mendocino Jewelry Studios, and for April at Edgewater Gallery.
