Raised in the Pacific Northwest, Derik Nelson & Family (siblings Derik, Riana, and Dalten) have been performing together since childhood. Derik is a graduate of University of Southern California and has been awarded several awards for original songs including the Indie International Songwriting Competition for “The Way It’s Gonna Go.” Derik appears regularly as the lead guitarist on television’s “Glee” and his voice can be heard on CBS’s “How I met Your Mother”, and other television shows.

Riana has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Musical Theatre from the University of Michigan. She is the onscreen vocalist for Renee Zellweger’s pilot “Cinnamon Girl” and lead vocalist for Princess Cruises.

Dalten has an extensive musical theatre background. He has also appeared on several episodes of television’s “Glee” and has conceptualized, designed, filmed, edited, and executed over 150 separate videos in perfect sync to create visual “immersion” to the musical experience.

The concert will be at the Little Theatre so tickets will likely sell out. The program will feature some original tunes but will also include covers of James Taylor, David Bowie, Coldplay, Sting & The Police, Bruno Mars, traditional Scottish folk songs and classics like “Fly Me to The Moon”. This concert has a terrific wide appeal and is a hit with audiences of all ages. Vice-President Elena Casanova says: “This concert will most likely be the one we will talk about for years to come.”

Ukiah Community Concert Association has been presenting nationally acclaimed talent since 1947. It is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization with a mission to build and maintain a permanent concert audience and cultivate an interest in fine music in the community as well as provide educational outreach to local schools.
