Mendocino College’s Annual Student Art Show is a chance for students to showcase their artworks, connect with one another across disciplines and celebrate the culmination of the year. Students from any major, working in any medium, are welcome to submit up to three pieces to the show.

In years past everything from painting to fine furniture, textiles, ceramics, photography and jewelry have been shown. This is the largest show of the year in the MC Gallery and a chance to see the thriving creative spirit of Mendocino College Students.

The opening reception on Thursday, April 25th, 4 – 6 PM, will be an exciting and interactive affair in collaboration with the Mendocino College Repertory Dance Company. Easels and drawing supplies are set up outside the gallery and guests are encouraged to try their hand at figure drawing! The dancers model their costumes for the upcoming Spring Dance Festival performance, opening May 2nd – 5th in the Center Theatre.

Every artist who submits work to the Annual Student Show will have at least one artwork chosen for the exhibition, more may be accepted based on available space and quality of work. 100% of the proceeds of any sold works go to the artist.

Please join us for our biggest show of the year, the Annual Student Show, featuring over 200 juried works of art from Mendocino College students.This show offers an exciting mix of works across disciplines, from oil painting to watercolor, ceramic, photography, printmaking, drawing, Dada-inspired sculpture and digital art. Students from the Coast Center, Lake Center and North County Center as well as Ukiah campus and Dual Enrollment students will all have their works represented.

The Opening Reception will be held on April 25th, with an interactive Draw-a-thon in coordination with the MC Dance Repertory Company. Dancers will model in costume for anyone who would like to try their hand at drawing from life, materials provided.  

Light refreshments will be served, catered by the MC Culinary Arts Department.

We will host the following Extended Gallery Hours for the Student Show:

Tuesdays: 12 – 6 PM
Wednesdays: 12 – 3 PM
Thursdays: 3 – 6 PM
and by appointment

The Gallery will also be open to ticket holders for most events in the Center Theatre, including the UCCA concert on April 21st and the Spring Dance Festival, May 2nd – 5th.
