Sips for the Symphony

Presented by Ukiah Symphony at Dancing Crow Vineyards

Come enjoy an afternoon of beautiful piano and chamber music at the lovely Dancing Crow Vineyards in Hopland. 

Sips for the Symphony is a fundraising concert in support of the Ukiah Symphony Orchestra featuring musicians who have played and continue to play with the symphony. The artists include local musicians Spencer Brewer, Ben Rueb, Dr. Wenbo Yin, and the Mendocino Piano Quartet featuring Jeff Ives, Paul Yarbrough, Joel Cohen, and Ben Rueb.

Pianist, composer, and producer Spencer Brewer is known for his stylistically cross-pollinated classical-, jazz-, and pop-influenced instrumental albums. Ben Rueb has been a piano teacher for over 20 years and specializes in classical music. His family’s highly successful mushroom business, Mulligan Gardens, is featured weekly at all Mendocino Farmer’s markets.

Cellist Joel Cohen was with the Vienna Symphony for years as well as Quartet San Francisco creating numerous celebrated records. Violist Paul Yarborough was a founding member of the world renown Alexander String Quartet and recently retired to Mendocino County. Jeff Ives is the principal violist for the Symphony of the Redwoods and the Ukiah Symphony Orchestra as well as an acclaimed composer.

Dr. Wenbo Yin is praised for his mastery of a diverse range of genres. Yin recently appeared as a soloist at Carnegie Hall and has played in numerous concerts with prominent jazz artists. Tickets are $50-75 in advance.
