Organized and traveled by Exhibit Envoy, this exhibition will feature dozens of original artworks by members of the Studio Art Quilt Associates (California/Nevada Regions) and the California Society of Printmakers.
Nov 1, 2023 to February 18, 2024
The show explores the connection between printmaking and fiber arts. Printed imagery and sewn fibers are ancient traditions. Printmakers often reference fiber and stitching, while textile artists/art quilters have been known to incorporate printed elements into their work. At their confluence is pigment and pressure, woven layers, and borders sewn with fiber. There is color and also texture, form, intention, ingenuity, and many stories. Textile and print go hand in hand, and the combinations are constantly being reinvented.
Our latest exhibition, Printed & Stitched, exploring the overlap between hand pulled printmaking and the art quilt. Check out the new show. In addition to all that, discover or get reacquainted with our core galleries featuring Grace Hudson’s artwork, exquisite Pomo basketry, and Hudson-Carpenter family history.
