‘Peace’ the theme for Edgewater’s December show; carolers perform on First Friday

Celebrating the season with artistic interpretations of “Peace,” the members of Fort Bragg’s Edgewater Gallery will open their December show on First Friday, December 2, from 5-8 p.m., at the gallery, 356 N. Main St. near the Laurel Street intersection.

A special caroling performance by the Gloriana Theater Carolers will begin at 6:00 p.m. The carolers perform annually in a fund-raising effort to provide a scholarship to a local high school student interested in studying performing arts in college. Light refreshments will be served.

As part of the “Peace” celebration, Edgewater artist Terri Lockwood will present a “Peace Wreath” workshop the next day (Saturday, 12/3) from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the gallery.

Edgewater will provide the wreaths, numerous “peace-themed” ornaments for participants to use, as well as glue, wire and other construction items.

Fee for the workshop is $25/person, and those who wish to make a second wreath will be charged only $20 for that second wreath. Participant size will be limited to 20 individuals. To sign up, please call Terri at 707.513.6353.

The gallery is open 10 to 5 daily and until 5:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

Currently, Edgewater is seeking new artists to fill spots of artists who have moved from the area. Jewelry designers and both 2D and 3D artists are encouraged to apply to become guest or full-time members, and they should contact Alexis Moyer at potshop@saber.net Applications also are available at the gallery.
