For the month of May Edgewater Gallery will be filled with whimsical ceramic animals created by our own founding member, Alexis Moyer. There will be an assortment of stand-alone animal sculptures, animals combined with found objects and animals as part of totem poles.

In any combination her animals are sure to delight everyone who visits the gallery and for a few lucky visitors they will continue to spread their joy when they get to go home with them.

Moyer says, “I have a special connection with animals. I always love that moment when the clay seems to suddenly be animated and I can see a personality for the animal I’m sculpting. They all feel like friends by the time they are finished, after all, we’ve spent many hours getting to know each other!”

Edgewater Gallery is an artist collective currently celebrating our 20th year in business. The gallery is always staffed by one of the artists and we welcome you to come in, meet one of us, and share what we’ve created. We have a selection of works that include painting, photography, ceramics, wood bowls and tables, jewelry and mixed media works.

Edgewater will host an opening celebration on First Friday, May 5th from 5 to 8 pm. Alexis will be on hand to share her ceramics with you. Light refreshments will be served.
