LOBA Poetry Series

LOBA Poetry Series

Presented by Ukiah Library at Ukiah Library

Join Ukiah Branch Library staff as we host poetry events in-person on the third Saturday of each month at 3:00 p.m.

This free event is open to both teens and adults – all are invited to share poems in any form or style, or just listen to others. On April fifteenth, we welcome Denise Low, Kansas Poet Laureate 2007-09, winner of a Red Mountain Press Award for Shadow Light and author of numerous books including Jigsaw Puzzling: Essays in a Time of Pestilence recently published by Meadowlark Books. Other publications are her memoir The Turtle’s Beating Heart: One Family’s Story of Lenape Survival (University of Nebraska), Wing (Red Mountain), Casino Bestiary (Spartan) and Jackalope (Red Mountain, fiction). She teaches at Baker University, her PhD in English is from Kansas University, and MFA from Wichita State. She is a founding board member of Indigenous Native Poets and lives in California’s Sonoma County, homeland of Pomo people. www.deniselow.net.
