Wood firing is an ancient technique which utilizes wood as the sole fuel source inside a brick and mortar kiln.

From Peter: “The large kilns I fire go for an eight day period being consistently stoked by a crew of potters. Within this time someone is always at the kiln tossing wood in the “beast.” Temperatures rise to a soaring 2300 degrees. After an eight day cooling period we unload the earthy wares out of the “belly of the beast.” Our hope is that these works will be enjoyed and used, as we share them with our community.”
