A morning presentation by Anne Fleuret focusing on the special African textiles she has donated to Pacific Textile Arts, as well as an afternoon Gallery event examining more such items in depth.
Pacific Textile Arts monthly program series will feature a talk by Anne Fleuret, who amassed a large collection of African fabrics and baskets while working for many years in Africa. She has donated much of her collection to Pacific Textile Arts, and the Gallery has exhibited many of these items for sale during February.
The special pieces that will remain in the PTArts collection are the ones she will discuss in her one hour program, Saturday, Feb. 25, at 11:00 AM. To continue the exploration, from 2-4:00 the same day, Anne, collection curator Lolli Jacobsen, and Rebecca Jarrett of Ananse Village in Fort Bragg, will meet with interested people to discuss the details of other African textiles available to share.
Attendees are invited to wear or bring African fabrics of their own to include in the discussion.
