Ellis has played throughout the U.S. as well as Canada, Europe, Australia and South America with more than 150 live shows a year. Whether he’s out with his own band or sharing stages with major artists like Buddy Guy, The Allman Brothers, Gov’t Mule or Widespread Panic, he always digs deep and plays, as Guitar Player says, “as if his life depended on it.”

Over his 40-year career, Ellis has released 19 albums and shared the stage with such luminaries as The Allman Brothers Band, Buddy Guy, Albert Collins and Otis Rush. Rolling Stone has compared his guitar playing to Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton, and Ellis has forged a path as a musician who bridges the blues with rock ‘n’ roll. He won Rock/Blues Album of the Year with “Tough Love” in 2015 from Blues Blast Magazine and made many “Best of” lists within Downbeat and others.

Ellis’ newest release “Red Clay Soul” debuted on Living Blues Magazine’s Radio Chart for June 2016 at No. 1, and continues to garner critical praise from critics and fans alike. Grant Britt of Blues Music Magazine calls “Red Clay Soul” an almost perfect description of what Tinsley Ellis has been doing his whole career.

Rolling Stone wrote, “Feral blues guitar…nonstop gigging has sharpened his six string to a razor’s edge…his eloquence dazzles…he achieves pyrotechnics that rival early Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton.” The Arena Theater bar and snack stand will be open.
