A Pacific Textile Arts Gallery show and sale, focusing on baskets and woven yardage collected by member, Anne Fleuret, during her years of working and living in Africa.
Pacific Textile Arts will open on First Friday, February 3, 5-8:00 PM, with an exhibit and sale of woven yardage and baskets created by African artisans.
PTArts’ member, Anne Fleuret, had a long career working in Africa as an anthropologist and USAID worker, and enjoyed collecting textiles of the local area, be it Nigeria, Kenya or Uganda. Anne has donated many of these interesting items to Pacific Textile Arts, some of which are being kept for the organization’s educational collection and some will be offered for sale.
The exhibit will run through January 28, when Anne will present a program about African textiles at 11:00 AM in the PTArts classroom.
