ACMC Quarterly Roundtable Zoom Meeting

ACMC Quarterly Roundtable Zoom Meeting

Presented by ACMC at Online/Virtual Space

The Arts Council hosts quarterly roundtable meetings by Zoom to give artists and art organizations of Mendocino County an opportunity to network with each other and to share ideas for resilience, recovery and reinvention. These meetings take place at noon, on the first Monday of the following months: February, May, August & November.

The next meeting will be November 7th from Noon to 1:30, by Zoom. The link to join the meeting is at the end of this email.

The topic of this meeting will be the California Creative Corps grant which will bring over $4 million dollars to our 19-county upstate region over the next two years! We are in the very early stages of this grant, so we will share everything we know so far. This is also the perfect time for you to help shape the grant guidelines by giving feedback to the Administering Organization as they will be present in person inviting your feedback on Thursday, November 3, from 2-4 pm at the Willits Center for the Arts (upstairs in the Great Room).

Please save both dates:

November 4th: Listening Session, Willits Center for the Arts, 2-4 pm
November 7th: Arts Council’s Roundtable by Zoom, Noon-1:30, link to join the meeting is below.

The California Creative Corps grant will offer artists and culture bearers a unique and unprecedented opportunity to engage with some of the most critical challenges of our time: from public health to civic engagement and social justice; from water and energy conservation and climate mitigation to emergency preparedness, relief, and recovery. This pilot program positions artists and culture bearers as uniquely situated to engage meaningfully and boldly with these topics in public spaces and community life; to speak powerfully to intersectional public interest goals across traditional lines of divide. Additionally, applicants are invited to collaborate across county lines within our 19-county upstate region; to seek possibilities for synergy and cooperation, especially in situations for which challenges are shared or similar. It is also the goal of the re-granting team responsible for deploying these funds in the upstate region that these projects speak beyond our time and our place, inspiring Californians of the future and other states in much the same way that WPA-era murals speak to us of past resiliency from the walls of public buildings still in use today.

The California Healthy Places Index offers a springboard from which to consider regional proposals for funding through this grant. In areas with the most adverse health outcomes, how can artists help to move the needle on the issues of greatest concern to our communities? We believe the most innovative and inspiring answers to this question are as yet still before us and now is the time to begin dreaming up grant proposals!

Arts Council is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.
