The weekend kicks off Friday the 28th with the “High School Monster Dance,” inviting teens to show off their creature creations on the dance floor with $100 grand prize. Tickets are $10 at the door.

Saturday October 29th will be the adults turn to celebrate at “The Haunted Ballroom: A Halloween Masquerade Gala”. Local favorites Funkacillin headline the evening’s musical performances. The costume parade features a grand prize of $250 in gas from Brown’s Corner. Food will be created by Willits’ own Adam Celaya, the Def Chef. There will be fortune tellers, a portrait studio to capture your special look and many more spooktacular surprises. The Gala is the WCA’s biggest annual fundraiser, with a goal for raising the money to replace our aging gallery lighting system. The event is being generously sponsored by the Willits Chamber of Commerce, Northspur Brewing Company, Barra of Mendocino and Browns Corner. Gala tickets are $50 and are available online at willitscenterforthearts.org or at the door.

Sunday October 30th the Center will host kids and families from 2-4pm for a free costume party with prizes, treats and games.

For this weekend long “Halloween Happening: A Celebration of Creativity” the entire Willits Center for the Arts will be transformed inside and out with decorations, props and projections provided with generous donations from our board members (and extreme Halloween enthusiasts) Emmy Good and Eric Hart.
