Sunday Afternoon with Illustrators

Sunday Afternoon with Illustrators

Presented by Kelley House Museum at Kelley House Museum

Illustrators have long been a vibrant part of the Mendocino art community. The Kelley House is excited to interview several whose work in the ‘70s and ‘80s appears as part of the Cat Mother exhibit currently on display in the museum.

Mervin Gilbert, author of the comic collection Life in the Northwest Nowhere will talk about cartoon art, and photographer Nick Wilson will discuss poster artist John Chamberlin’s contribution to the art scene. Chuck Hathaway has been invited to join the speakers and docent Katy Tahja will moderate the panel.

If you have admired the Hathaway print with dinosaurs frolicking in Mendocino Bay, loved a Chamberlin poster with “Country Bob” on it, or giggled over Albion Hippies drawn by Mervin, this is the event for you.

Original prints will be available for sale at half off  with proceeds benefitting the Kelley House Museum. Gilbert and Wilson’s books also for sale.
