Artist Tosca Terán is building a Myco-Sound Dome!
We are elated to announce that the Larry Spring Museum was awarded an impact grant from the California Arts Council.
The grant will support artist Tosca Terán and our communities as we learn how to communicate with the world’s largest living organism. Tosca will build a geodome out of mycelium that will generate a soundscape from the living fungi. Over the duration of the build, Tosca will also facilitate a workshop series. Here is a preview of what we have planned so far!
Sept 24: Home Mushroom Cultivation
Oct 1: Sculpting with Mycelium
Oct 7: Performance
Oct 15: Make a Contact Microphone
Oct 15: Bio-Sonifications: Demonstration and Community Sound Walk
Oct 22: Sound Dome reveal, performance, dinner and panel discussion
We will update you as we figure out the details.
