Winter is coming… The Mendocino Art Center (MAC) hosts a Game of Thrones inspired medieval feast, costume and dance party, “Winter is Coming,” Saturday, October 29, at the Caspar Community Center, with proceeds benefiting the MAC’s Jewelry Department/Scholarship Fund.
The doors open at 5:30 p.m. with a delicious assortment of hors d’oeuvres and specialty cocktails. A Game of Thrones inspired dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. with Cornish game hen, roasted pig, harvest vegetables, roasted applesauce, herbed rice and grains, mulled wine, and Peg’s famous chocolate Guinness ganache and spiced shortbread cookies for dessert.
Strolling minstrel Steven Bates and sword dancer Nikki Fish will entertain during the evening. A silent art auction of handmade jewelry created by noted jewelry artists, including one-of-a-kind Game of Thrones themed pieces – and even a dragon egg – will be up for bid. There will also be a Game of Thrones trivia contest and prizes for the best costumes.
The dance party with DJ James Wade begins at 8:00 p.m. and will continue until 12:00 a.m. Dance party tickets may be purchased separately.
