WCA presents stamp collages of Bobbie Yokum and fine furniture by Wes-Eagle-Gibbs

Presented by Willits Center for the Arts at Willits Center for the Arts

Willits Center for the Arts is pleased to announce two amazing artists for their June show opening on May 28th, 2022.

This exhibition will showcase the incredible collages by Bobbie Yokum, made entirely of postage stamps.  Also showing is Wes Eagle, who will display his inlaid furniture and other fine woodwork.

Like many others at the beginning of the pandemic, Bobbie Yokum was looking for something to keep her occupied.  She made a small collage as an exercise with torn paper and stamps.  From there, she received stamps from all over.  These collages must be seen to appreciate fully.  The detail, clever use of postage stamps, and compositions pull one in and hold the eye to the task of seeing.

Wes-Eagle-Gibbs will present his fine furniture.  Wes combines traditional woodwork with intricate stone inlay patterns to inspire the primordial image in the viewer.  As a woodworker and a naturalist, he merges his passion for wild animals and ancient cultures.

You can meet the artists on Saturday, May 28th, between 6 – 9 p.m.  They will be on hand to talk about their work.  Refreshments will be served, and Beer and Wine will be available for purchase.

The Willits Center for the Arts is located at 71 E. Commercial St. right next to the Noyo Theater.
