Exciting Nuevo Tango music and dance comes to Ukiah with Los Tangueros del Oeste at Mendocino College Center Theatre on Sunday, April 24, at 2:00 p.m. Presented by Ukiah Community Concerts.
Los Tangueros del Oeste is an ensemble of seven stellar musicians and a world-class dance couple founded by Sascha Jacobsen, a bassist/composer who loves expanding on traditional forms. He has explored his passion for tango in ensembles like The Musical Art Quintet and Trio Garufa, and his latest project Los Tangueros del Oeste might be his most adventurous yet.
Steeped in the Nuevo Tango styles of Astor Piazzolla, Gotan Project, and Bajo Fondo, Los Tangueros singular Nuevo Tango sound is cool and impassioned, sensuous and seductive. World Champion Tango dancers Maxi Copello & Raquel Makow embody style, passion, and excitement with every step and embrace.
