BAM! – Book Arts Mendocino!

BAM! is a series of exhibitions and displays, talks and readings, workshops and demonstrations devoted to the wide ranging and varied arts of the book with events taking place in Mendocino County continuing throughout the month.

What began as a single exhibit of 3 letterpress artists at Partners Gallery in Mendocino has mushroomed into a series of related exhibits and events hosted by over twenty local organizations, including the Mendocino Art Center, Kelley House, Gallery Bookshop, Fort Bragg and Mendocino Libraries, Pacific Textile Arts, local bookbinders, calligraphers, papermakers, book artists, poets, writers, publishers, and select shops.

Oil Paintings by Ed La Velle

Highlight Gallery is pleased to show a limited number of mid-century oil paintings by Ed La Velle (1911-1999). Mr. La Velle resided on his family ranch in rural Northern California and was collected nationally, exhibiting at The Gallery Americana and Simic galleries in Carmel, as well as showing in his own gallery in Yountville, CA. He was known and collected for his keen sense of balance and composition, masterful use of color, and skillful depiction of light.
