Northcoast Artists Gallery is pleased to present the work of member artist Havana Davidson, October 5-31, 2016. The show is called “Portion,” and features new, functional, ceramic works.
In this exhibit, Havana explores ways to create a whole vision from multiple functional elements. Plate sets adorn the wall to present a single image and multiple cups give a sense of rhythm with their repetition and subtle differences. In her largest works yet, Davidson explores colored surfaces much like a painter on clay: She applies multiple layers of color and sequentially uncovers by scratching, pushing and wiping to uncover the history of her process.
Come and see what Havana has created displayed at the gallery, and view her new explorations up close. There are a wide range of decorative pieces to enjoy.
