Hyder is presenting color film and digital prints from her 52-year career of, as she often writes, “using my camera as my tool and viewing my negative as my canvas.”

“November 2009 is when I first used a very small digital camera. After 40 years working in film with the Hasselblad, a medium format camera that weighs around 7 lbs, it was a freeing experience,” she says.

Hyder’s featured work comes from that first experience through recent botanical prints on watercolor paper. “A gift of digital work is the ability to print an image that piqued my interest without setting up a darkroom’s trays and chemicals. It was exciting and I have more images than I can exhibit,” she adds. In celebration of these, she will have many single edition local, national and international prints available.
