A Corner in the Gardens

A Corner in the Gardens

Presented by Art Center Ukiah / Corner Gallery at Grace Hudson Museum

POSTPONED

the event was scheduled for

Saturday, July 10 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM

Due to the forecasted high temperature of 107 degrees this Saturday, the Museum and the boards of the Sun House Guild and Art Center Ukiah have decided to postpone this event. While disappointing, the comfort and health of both our guests and participating artists are of greatest importance. As the hottest months of the year still remain in front of us, and wildfires and smoky air continue to be a concern as the summer progresses, the plan is to postpone this special plein-air fundraiser until spring 2022, when we have a better chance at milder weather. We hope to have a new date identified in the near future.

We are so grateful to all of you who purchased tickets — the event would have sold out!  We will be happy to refund ticket purchases, now or in the future, and hope you will repurchase tickets to the event as we get closer to the new date. And for those of you who don’t require a refund, ticket money will be kept in a restricted account and your place on the guest list secured.

The date is July 10, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. This event features several of the Corner Gallery’s member artists* creating new original works in a plein-air setting in the museum’s Wild Gardens.

Art works will be available for sale by silent auction, with proceeds supporting the Corner Gallery. Stroll the gardens, chat with artists as they work, bid on your favorite pieces, while you enjoy savory appetizers from Beth Keiffer’s kitchen and a cool beverage from the cash bar. And we have the Back Porch Trio (BP3) providing their sweet music for the afternoon.

Saturday, July 10
4:00 to 7:00 PM

Enjoy a late afternoon and early evening in the Museum’s Wild Gardens, where a number of artists, working in different mediums, will be creating new art, plein-air style. Converse with the artists as they work, and learn about their techniques and why they make certain aesthetic choices. The art will be sold via silent auction. This event includes catered appetizers, a bar, a wine pull, and live music.

This will be a delightful way to support two of Ukiah’s art organizations. Tickets are $50 per person (or $35 if you’re under age 35!) at this link https://www.gracehudsonmuseum.org/ (scroll down to the event listing and click Purchase Tickets).

And please help spread the word by sharing this email, or online links (https://www.gracehudsonmuseum.org/, https://www.facebook.com/events/251374330115430)

*Participating artists are Carolyn Bakewell, Susan Blackwelder, Eva Cox, Carol Rosenberg, Laura Fogg, Rose Easterbrook, Katie Gibbs, Elizabeth Raybee and Tim Easterbrook!

Please note: We can have fun responsibly! Even though we’ll be outside, COVID protocols will be observed to protect everyone’s health. There will be no sit-down served meal, and we encourage masking while you mingle, since not everyone in the community is vaccinated.
