The Ukiah Garden Club invites the public to its Club House, at 1203 W. Clay St. in Ukiah, for a Rummage Sale of gently used, high end, and exotic treasures— this weekend.
Members have been combing through their stores of glassware, ceramics, jewelry, art works, like-new kitchen appliances, and all the what-have-yous that need to find new homes. The hours for the sale are 9 A.M. to 2 P.M. on Saturday and 10 A.M. to 1 P.M. on Sunday, June 12-13.
“We’ve had to suspend in-person Club activities for the last year due to the pandemic,” said Garden Club President Bradley Wright. “That’s led to a budget shortfall as we get ready to make major repairs to our Club House, so this event is important to us to build back our budget for the much needed upgrades to the House.” Most Club members have already been vaccinated, but all will observe mask and social distance requirements indoors, with distance markers.
As members have kept in touch with Zoom over the months, and now with in-person Board meetings resuming, many of us have been discussing our own house clearing efforts. We have collected items we no longer need, but may be someone else’s new favorite thing. From bird cages to candlesticks, waffle makers to earrings, and of course, flower pots and vases, the Garden Club members have assembled collections that are reasonable priced, unusual, beautiful, useful, or all of the above! That makes the Ukiah Garden Club Rummage Sale very attractive and worth a visit. And of course, it will be an opportunity to re-connect with old friends, meet new ones, and renew membership to the much loved tradition of this special organization.
Help will be on hand to convey purchases to vehicles. Payments may be made by cash or check (no credit cards please!), so bring your shopping bags for some fantastic finds for your house and garden.
