Alexander String Quartet, Mendocino Music Festival Concert

Alexander String Quartet, Mendocino Music Festival Concert

Presented by Mendocino Music Festival at Cotton Auditorium

Celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, the San Francisco-based Alexander String Quartet is widely admired for its interpretations of Mozart, Beethoven, and Shostakovich. The group will play the innovative Haydn String Quartet in C Major, Ravel’s lyrical and virtuosic String Quartet in F, and Shostakovich’s String Quartet No. 7 in F-sharp minor. The seventh of Shostakovich’s 15 string quartets was written in 1960 as a tribute to his first wife Nina, who died in 1954.

Public ticket sales for 2021 begin in June.
For 2021, the Festival is temporarily transplanted to a new indoor venue, the beautiful 1938 Cotton Auditorium in nearby Fort Bragg. Tickets will be available as soon as our ticketing platform provider completes the updates necessary to offer online pick-your-own-seat ticketing in this new venue to comply with our county’s public health guidelines.
