“Retrospective” 2010-2021 Exhibit of photographs ten photos from each of the past 12 year’s exhibits of the Annual High School Students Photography Show.
“Retrospective”
In the Fall of 2009, Lech Slocinski, a photography teacher at Ukiah High School, visited the Corner Gallery and inquired if the gallery would be interested in exhibiting the work of one hundred fifty students enrolled in the photography class. Katie Gibbs, a member artist, asked how many photographs we were planning to show. Five hundred sixty was the answer. That’s a lot to fit into the gallery space. In May 2010 the first Annual Student Photography Show opened with its trade mark prints mounted on 4×8 ft. boards, and since then it has become late Spring local tradition.
The cooperation between the high school and the gallery made possible to display the talents of young image makers, and throughout the years the public was able to see over 6,000 prints. The retrospective showcases 120 photographs representing the efforts of our students over the last twelve years.
