Mariko Irie, a lifelong painter, received her BFA at Musashino Art University in Tokyo in 1973, then studied print making with Robert Rhoades and realism painting with Bill Martin, both at College of the Redwoods in Fort Bragg.

She has been in numerous solo and group shows, receiving prizes including selected for “California Contemporary Art Collection 2017-2018” at the Capital of California,  the best of show award for “Outstanding Visual Artists” at the Museum of the Living Artist in San Diego in 2011. Mariko’s paintings are widely represented in collections both public and private throughout the United States, Canada, England, Germany and Japan.

She is represented at the Northcoast Artists Gallery in Fort Bragg and she Highlight Gallery in Mendocino California. Her extensive website can be viewed at www.mariko-irie.com

Mariko says, “I have painted Mendocino Coast Scenes since 1989. What a wonderful, exquisite world with tender light, our Mendocino Coast”.
