Some 900 members of our community heard the Kronos Quartet perform The Sea Ranch Songs as part of the celebration of The Sea Ranch’s 50th anniversary. Composed by Aleksandra Vrebalov with videography by Andrew Lyndon, the Songs were performed by Kronos in the White Barn during May of 2015, and they drew rave reviewsas well as many calls for a recording of them.

Thanks to very generous local donors, that call has now been answered: A CD/DVD set will be released by Cantaloupe Music this fall. To celebrate, a special screening of the DVD will take place on September 30, 2016, at 7 p.m. in Gualala Arts Centers Coleman Hall. Free and open to the entire community, this event provides an opportunity to experience the magnificent songs and evocative film again. Both Aleksandra Vrebalov and Andrew Lyndon will be on hand for the screening as well as for a discussion afterwards.
