"AiR", Mendocino Art Center Artists in Residence April Show, held at the Artists' Co-op

at Artists’ Co-op Of Mendocino

The Artists’ Co-op of Mendocino hosts the annual exhibit of work created by the five talented artists who have spent this last year living and working at the campus of the Mendocino Art Center. Each year the Artist in Residence program selects artists from around the country, and although the Center has been closed except for online workshops, the artist continued to use the studios.

Austyn Taylor explores humor and hopefulness with her delightful over sized cartoon-like creatures. Grace Khalsa uses clay to reflect a sense of wonder from observing complexity and diversity in the patterns of Nature. A chef-turned-studio-potter Miles McCreary makes functional ceramics.

Since the age of twelve Trevi Alohilani Pendra has been shaping metal, something that “brings me out of my head and into my hands.” Jared Elizares has come from exploring urban architecture in Arizona and the Bay Area to spend a year absorbing the tranquility of the North Coast in diverse photographic processes.

This promises to be an exciting show of diverse work, a testament to the resilience of the creative spirit, even during a pandemic. Don’t miss it!

The AMC gallery on the corner of Kasten nd Albion is open from 11am to 4pm and the “AIR” show runs from April 6 until Monday, May  3rd.
