ACMC Monthly Zoom Meeting

ACMC Monthly Zoom Meeting

at Unknown

The Arts Council continues to offer monthly meetings by Zoom to give artists and art organizations of Mendocino County an opportunity to network with each other safely during this pandemic; to share ideas for resilience, recovery and reinvention during the time of Covid. These meetings will be at noon, on the first Monday of the month for as long as needed.

The next scheduled meeting is Monday, November 2, Noon – 1:30 (and we’ll keep the zoom open until 2 in case the conversation runs over.) In addition to other topics for discussion, Joan Wood of Gualala Arts Center will have a presentation about their recent experience with low cost, easy to use software to move exhibit processes from in-person to online, including receive/manage/jury calls for artists and gallery display/artwork sales.

Some things to keep in mind…

We have the capacity to include up to 100 participants. The meetings to-date have all had about 20 attendees. Please feel free to forward this invitation as there is plenty of capacity! We are especially grateful to those of you who have been consistent attendees. You strengthen this community!

These are our objectives:
• We will deepen our connections to each other and forge new ones;
• We will share all ideas related to arts recovery, resilience, survival, and reinvention with each other in the hopes that some of these ideas will gather momentum and support;
• We will work together to dismantle systemic racism in Mendocino County recognizing that this work is past due;
• We will keep the agenda open to new ideas and needs of the community as they arise.

The Arts Council of Mendocino County would like to carry forward a practice of recognizing the original caretakers of these Sacred Lands within and throughout Mendocino County. We acknowledge their stewardship of these lands and uplift their legacies as they continue to build and sustain their culture and practices today and for seven generations. We acknowledge and offer gratitude to these indigenous ancestors, and present-day relations of the Cahto, Pomo, Yuki, Maidu, Miwok, Nomlaki, Wailaki, and Pit River peoples.
