Mendocino Theatre Company’s 2020 reading series goes on the radio!
The Mendocino Theatre Company, in association with local community radio station KZYX, presents a reading of Susan Glaspell’s brilliant early-feminist drama TRIFLES. The play, written in 1916, is an engrossing one-act that tells the tale of two women who gradually uncover the motive for a murder by observing the “trifles” of the suspect’s life, while the male authorities are blinded by a callous insensitivity and superiority. In the end, they solve a mystery by exposing a tragedy.
TRIFLES is directed by Lorry Lepaule and features Mark Friedrich, Dan Kozloff, Susan Maeder, Scott Menzies, and Laura Pinyuh, with narration by Pamela W. Allen and sound design by Ken Krauss. The play will be broadcast on KZYX on Thursday, July 16th at 7pm. The recording will be available on MTC’s website in August.
