Eight artists from the Miasa-Omachi area in Nagano Prefecture are exhibiting their artwork online as part of the seventh bi-ennial Miasa Sister City Art Exchange Exhibit. Works include woodworking, sculpture, ceramics, glass works, textiles and more.

Mendocino Art Center founder Bill Zacha and artist Toshi Yoshida formalized the sister city relationship in 1980. In 1992 Miasa and Mendocino started annual youth visit exchanges that have continued throughout the years. The Art Exchange Exhibit was inaugurated in 2008 at the Mendocino Art Center, followed by showings in 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2018. Since 2009, Mendocino Coast artists have exhibited artwork every other year in Omachi, Japan.
