Lynn Thompson: “Cosmic Creations” GALLERY CLOSED

Lynn Thompson: “Cosmic Creations” GALLERY CLOSED

Presented by Mendocino Art Center at Mendocino Art Center

With increasing concerns surrounding the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and California Governor Gavin Newsom’s recommendation to postpone public gatherings, and instructing all Californians 65 and older and those with chronic health conditions to isolate themselves at home, the Mendocino Art Center has decided to exercise caution by postponing all classes, open studios, and gallery exhibitions, and closing our gallery store, through April 30. The Mendocino Art Center buildings will remain closed. Our employees will continue to work remotely from the safety of their homes.

The health and safety of you, our valued patrons and students, and our artists and employees is of utmost importance.

Those of you who have enrolled in a class scheduled between now and the end of the April will be contacted soon.

As a non-profit arts organization, the Mendocino Art Center relies heavily on the support of our students and patrons. The Mendocino Art Center, as well as other non-profit organizations in our community and beyond, could experience significant losses due to the impact of COVID-19.

Your donation to support us during this difficult time would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your support and patience as we navigate this ever-changing challenge. We wish you good health and look forward to welcoming you back to the Mendocino Art Center.

Sincerely,

Roccie Hill
Executive Director

SECOND SATURDAY GALLERY RECEPTION
March 14, 5 pm – 8 pm

After much consideration, consultation with local experts and today’s declaration from the World Health Organization that COVID-19 is officially a pandemic, we have decided to cancel the March 14, Second Saturday Gallery Reception and Open Studios event.

The Mendocino Art Center hosts a free Second Saturday Gallery Reception each month. Enjoy snacks and wine, meet the exhibiting artists and listen to the live classical guitar sounds of Sergei Bassehes. On exhibit will be the Ocean Wildlife Exhibit, with artwork by Buster Dyer, Cynthia Myers and Cleo Vilett, held in conjunction with the Mendocino Coast Chamber of Commerce’s annual Whale Festival. Also showing will be solo exhibits with works by Lynn Thompson and Button Quinn.

During the reception, Mendocino Art Center’s Artists in Residence will open their studios to the public. Watch the artists work and purchase newly created art direct from the artists. And, Professional Artist in Retreat Linda Nunes will give an encaustic presentation in her studio at 6 pm.
