Ceramic & Glass Artist, Evan Hobart’s show of mixed media 2D and 3D works is titled, “Inspired By Crisis” & runs March 4 through April 6.
Evan Hobart : INSPIRED BY CRISIS Climate crisis has been a driving force behind Evan Hobart’s ceramic and glass creations since 2009. He emphatically states that “Global Weirding” or Climate Change is real and an issue that should not be ignored. In a life dominated by fossil fuels, plastics, ignorance and more division than ever before, I feel its my duty to create the “visual protests” to take a stand on the challenged life we all live. He encourages us to inspire change, be the change, resolve to change and support the arts.
“Much of my inspiration comes from both culture and nature. Ecology, archeology and paleontology are some the topics that I use for research and concept. I employ my art works as a platform to discuss the past, present and future, utilizing the intersection of humanity and many of its facets such as global climate change, politics, war, religion, society, overdevelopment and possibly event extinction. Unpleasant as it is to confront some of theses issues, it is the work (obligation) of the artists and teacher, now and in the past to do so in a creative and thought provoking way.”
