75 samples of hand knitted lace by Suzanne da Rosa (Mendocino Art Center Artist in Residence), all of them based on 19th century patterns.
Pacific Textile Arts Gallery will open on First Friday, Feb. 7, from 5-8:00 PM, with “The Lace Wall Project,” by Mendocino Art Center Artist in Resident and Master Lace Knitter, Suzanne da Rosa.
Suzanne is documenting and recreating knitted lace patterns from the earliest published knitting books. “The Lace Wall” is a display of 75 samples of elegant historical lace knitting patterns she has created through her research.
Suzanne will also present an hour long program about historical knitting on Sat., Feb. 22, 11:00 AM at Pacific Textile Arts.
This exhibit will be in the Gallery until February 29, and can be seen during weekly open hours: Wed. 10:30-12, Thurs. 1:30-3:30 and Sat. 11-1:00, or by appointment, call 707-409-6811.
