Well known teacher and fiber artist, Deborah Corsini, will dazzle the Pacific Textile Arts Gallery with tapestries woven in a Navaho technique that defies the horizontal and celebrates design and color.
Pacific Textile Arts Gallery will come alive with vibrant color and lively design with an exhibit of Wedge Weave tapestries by Deborah Corsini. Wedge weave is a technique seen in some Navaho rugs which defies the horizontal, building the weft yarns diagonally. Joining Deborah’s work will be wedge weavings by local weavers: Laine Escola, Ellen Athens, Jennie Henderson, Elaine Todd, and others.
Deborah Corsini has pursued a lifelong passion for weaving. Known for her wedge weave tapestries, her work is exhibited internationally and is included in U.S. Embassies and in private and corporate collections. She teaches an ongoing tapestry class at City College of San Francisco and is an advocate of contemporary fiber art.
