Spring Ranch Barns by Suzi Long

Spring Ranch Barns by Suzi Long

Presented by Artists' Co-op of Mendocino at Artists’ Co-op Of Mendocino

September 2, through October 8. Second Saturday Reception, September 14. Kasten x Albion Sts. Artist’s Talk at 5:30.

“I’ve painted these iconic barns since I arrived in Mendocino in early 2006,” says Long. “The Little River Inn has sponsored many exhibits of my own barn paintings, and I’ve curated several shows there with other local artists who also paint these appealing old structures.” She has been painting several new works recently “because it’s not certain how long the roofs will be intact before the restoration takes place.”

A generous 25% of sales will be donated to the Spring Ranch Barn Restoration project1

A well-known local artist, Suzi Long has studied pastel with many well-known artists and received much of her art training at the University of Hawaii. She is a signature member of the Pastel Society of the West Coast, and an associate member of the Pastel Society of America. She owned the Watertower Gallery (The World of Suzi Long) in Mendocino for 12 years, and her work now is shown at Prentice Fine Art Gallery on Main Street, Mendocino; the John Hanes Gallery in Boonville, and the Mendocino Artists’ Co-op.

The Point Cabrillo Lighthouse sells her watercolors of the lighthouse. Long is a member of MendocinoEcoArtists and is part of the benefit exhibit concurrently showing at the Ford House museum.

A wall at the Ford House Museum is displaying paintings of Spring Ranch barns by Suzi Long, through October. A portion of these sales also will be donated to the restoration fund.
