Australian artist Sobrane Simcock
Pastels, ink, charcoal — birds and endangered animals
Growing up on a farm surrounded by the wilderness, Sobrane developed a deep compassion for nature, which largely influenced her artistic style today. In a journey which has seen her spend a day in a crocodile-infested river and a complete a 2400km bike ride, it culminates at On the wings of a Jabiru — an exploration of the quiet beauty of freedom and happiness through some of the most peaceful and alluring species of birds.
Opening Reception: Friday, September 9, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Exhibit remains through October 2.
International Australian wildlife artist Sobrane will showcase her latest exhibition in the Elaine Jacob Foyer at the Gualala Arts Center.
