Learn how to make a Kokedama (moss ball) is a Japanese art form of living sculpture suspended in the air.
A Kokedama (moss ball) is a Japanese art form of living sculpture suspended in air.
Very similar to bonsai, the plant and roots of a kokedama are contained in a small space. Its form and preparation represents the Japanese wabi-sabi aesthetic principles, defined as one of beauty that is “imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete.”
With guidance from instructor Cathrina Susoev (the Kokedama Mama), participants will learn how to make a kokedama string garden using a variety of beautiful plants and take home the finished product at the end of class. All supplies, as well as instructions for assembly and care, are included.
The workshop will begin with a calming mind-body centered movement meditation.
The class size is limited to 10 students.
Pre-register at cathawkgardens.com or at Lost Coast Found at 225 E Redwood in Fort Bragg.
$75 per person (includes supplies for making two Kokedamas)
