Plowshares’ Community Dining Room has provided free hot, nutritious meals with no questions asked since 1983. We recently expanded to serve meals six days a week. Plowshares’ Meals-on-Wheels for homebound seniors also expanded to an additional delivery route, plus frozen meals for weekends. Empty Bowls is an international effort to raise awareness of hunger, and funds for organizations directly serving local hunger needs.

This wonderful event allows guests to select their own handmade bowl to take home, and enjoy live music by Fair Winds and marvelous auction items including an Orr Hot Springs overnight-plus-2-massages package, a coast package including a night at the Mendocino Hotel, a Skunk Train ride, and Botanical Gardens visit; a unique Laura Fogg artisan quilt; handmade wooden toys by Gary Peters, and much more. All funds go directly to support Plowshares’ free hot meals for the most vulnerable members of our community.
